Treating abortion trauma leads to new life

Cradle My Heart Today | Tonier’s story 3-23-2018

Tonier Cain’s simple message is that treating trauma heals a chaotic past. Listen now:

Tonier Cain

Extreme abuse and other trauma in her childhood led to a hard life on the streets with over 80 arrests for drugs and prostitution.

But when her boyfriend forced her to abort a pregnancy at five months, something in her spirit died along with her baby that day.

When she was finally treated for the trauma and addiction, Tonier’s faith allowed her to tell her story to help other women trapped in the cycle of prison and addiction.

God knows when we have been forced into sinful actions not of our own accord.

And God cares for us even when our sin is willful.

Scriptures tell us that Jesus came to embody all sin so completely that his sacrificial death would pay our penalty in full. As we seek godly counsel and place our faith in God’s power to redeem and restore, the trauma of a painful past recedes.

“For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”2 Corinthians 5:21
