Mary Kay’s story | Cradle My Heart Today 1-19-18

Mary Kay posted on Twitter in January about her daughter with special needs. Watch now:

Using the hashtag #MyUnintendedJoy she wrote:

Mary Kay joined hundreds who affirmed the joy of children whose lives were neither planned nor perfect according to the world’s standards in advance of the 2017 March for Life in Washington, DC.

Many said these were children who taught them unconditional love, and these were children who truly had made their families complete, despite what they had planned before they arrived.

And all of them stood against the idea of eliminating down syndrome by eliminating children in the womb.

They’ve learned the secret of God’s plan for each member of the human family, so vividly illustrated by the apostle Paul picturing members making up the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12:20). His exhortation for unity among believers suits us well in thinking of extending love to those with special needs.

More importantly, we must embrace the truth of the value of each individual as one bearing the very image of God.

Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him. Psalm 127:3

We are all not only included, but also needed in God’s plan.
