“We will take whatever God has for us”

Cradle My Heart Today | Nina’s story 1-8-18

After raising three sons, Nina Fuller was shocked, but also thrilled at the prospect of finally having a daughter. Listen now:

Nina Fuller

After hearing the baby likely had Down syndrome and cardiac issues, things got even more challenging when Nina developed heart problems of her own.

But she never wavered, telling the doctors that she and her husband would take whatever God had in store for them, and instructing them to preserve and treat the baby first, come what may.

Her faith grew strong in her childhood when, at age 12 Nina became the surrogate mother to her four younger siblings due to parental abandonment and alcohol abuse.

Nina draws a clear line between the strength she found as a special sort of parent back then and the special needs of the children she is raising and advocating for now.

Nina says, “I believe with all my heart God shapes us with every experience we encounter from childhood through adulthood. He prepares us for future ministry with the character-shaping events of yesterday and today. No trauma or crisis in our life is wasted if we surrender it to God’s loving plan. Believe me! My life is living proof!”

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
