The grace to face being single and pregnant

Cradle My Heart Today | Amy’s story

Being a Christian doesn’t make you immune to sin—Christians struggle with temptation too.

Amy Ford wasn’t married when she got pregnant.

She and her partner had to confess their sin of being sexually active outside of marriage.

Still, many people at church treated Amy as if being pregnant was the sin. Even her pastor advised Amy to abort.

When she got the support she needed, Amy knew the right thing to do was to marry and repent of what had gone before.

As time passed, her pastor repented as well, saying all children are innocent and a gift from God.

Amy now leads Embrace Grace to welcome unwed moms to church.

The concept of grace includes the idea of receiving a gift we do not deserve; just as mercy means not receiving a punishment due. God in Jesus Christ offers us both, even to women who are single and pregnant.

And now I commend you to God and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up and to give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified. Acts 20:32
