A new view on her pregnancy changed everything

Cradle My Heart Today | Lindsey’s story 9-11-17

Lindsey was a young woman all in for God, serving in church and very public with her faith. Listen now:

But how did being single and pregnant fit in with all of that?

She told radicalchristianwoman.com that shame led her to ask, “God, how can you still love me? I’ve dragged your name through the dirt with my sin.”

It was acceptance from her youth pastor, though, that helped Lindsey to see that God was not surprised that she was pregnant.

She says, “He put that precious miracle into my life to save me–from my self, from future mistakes–and to teach me just how much He loves me.”

Lindsey’s daughter Reese has helped her see how the Church should model the same grace and love she was shown, because it drove her closer to Jesus.

If we don’t know God our heavenly Father, we may conclude that he punishes harshly like some strict fathers we have known. Then fear and self-preservation drive many to abortion.

But knowing God’s character as evident in Jesus Christ reveals the loving and caring presence which makes all things possible for our good.

When God’s people model and share his love and care, it can change a young woman’s perspective on everything.

But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted;
you consider their grief and take it in hand.
The victims commit themselves to you;
you are the helper of the fatherless. Psalm 10:14
