Alveda King’s dream of equal rights for children

Cradle My Heart Today | Alveda’s story 9-4-17

Have you stopped to consider abortion as a civil rights issue? Listen now:

Dr. Alveda King, niece of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. has experienced two abortions, one against her will.

She asks, “What about the rights of each baby who is artificially breached before coming to term in his or her mother’s womb?”

Alveda issues a call to choose life, saying “If the dream of Dr. King is to live, our babies must live. If we refuse to answer the cry of mercy from the unborn, and ignore the suffering of the mothers, then we are signing our own death warrants.”

She says, “I too have a dream. I have a dream that the men and women, the boys and girls of America will come to our senses, and humble ourselves before God Almighty and pray for mercy, and receive His healing grace.”

The Bible warns us against speaking ill of others. If it is wrong to curse another human being as being made in God’s likeness, how much more to deny that little one his or her very life?

Until we value all human beings, even those yet to be born, as made in the image of God, every life will be at risk.

With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness. James 3
