God is with us, even after abortion

Cradle My Heart Today | Carrie’s story 5-3-17

Choosing silence can make it almost impossible for you to approach God after abortion. Listen now:

Carrie was a young mom overwhelmed by the demands of her two young sons.

When she found herself pregnant again, Carrie chose abortion, thinking it would relieve the pressure and help her be a better mom.

She also chose to keep it secret, fearing judgment from her church and other family members.

In the aftermath Carrie had a hunger and thirst to be made right with God. Soon the safety of silence became a prison for locking away the pain.

Yet Carrie has learned that even though a wall of silence shrouds our hearts, leaving us feeling isolated and alone, the love of Jesus Christ can free us to live another way.

God is with us. As hard as it may be to believe after we’ve chosen abortion, God has never left us.

He was there in the pressure to make that choice. He was there when the choice was acted out. He is there with you in the aftermath.**

Perhaps our entire problem is our need to see him for who he is right here, right now today.

In all their distress he too was distressed,
and the angel of his presence saved them.
In his love and mercy he redeemed them;
he lifted them up and carried them
all the days of old. Isaiah 63:9

**[Clarification] The Bible makes clear that abortion is sinful and wrong. This post is meant to help with those struggling to accept the merciful love of Jesus in the aftermath.

    This post of God being there with us in this trying time has been most encouraging to me.
