Binding hearts broken by abortion

Cradle My Heart Today | Jewels’ story 4-19-17

Teen pregnancy is a tough problem for everyone involved. Listen now:

For Jewels Green the answer seemed simple enough—she already considered herself a mother.

But, facing opposition on all sides, she agreed to an abortion at age 17.

She attempted suicide in the immediate aftermath. And after receiving psychiatric care, Jewels then spent the next five years working in the abortion industry.

Looking back she says that she was hoping that would make her own abortion okay.

A friend had agreed to serve as a surrogate for a married couple, and wound up aborting that baby due to down syndrome. That finally opened Jewels’ eyes to the value of life and helped her repent and heal her own abortion experience and advocacy through faith in Jesus Christ.

A pregnant teen may not be prepared to parent, but often she has a heart full of love for her child yet to be born. To have the decision taken from her by those who do not share that love can be a devastating trauma.

Every abortion stems from a lack of love.

But God’s love is greater still to heal our broken hearts.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners Isaiah 61:1
