A compliant heart can be a young woman's worst enemy. In Lauren's case her need to please the authority figures in her life led to abortion and other issues including an eating disorder and debilitating depression that would take many years to overcome. Above all, Lauren was trapped in the bind of trying not only to project a perfect image, but to actually live up the hype.
PODCAST: Lauren Roman of All My Children on Cradle My Heart Radio
Lauren Roman’s story resonates with so many young women who chose abortion as problem-solving, only to find life issues compounded in the aftermath.
Her pregnancy at age 19 threatened her education and future acting career so she went along with a plan that she knew in her heart was wrong.
A compliant heart can be a young woman’s worst enemy.
In Lauren’s case her need to please the authority figures in her life led to other issues including an eating disorder and debilitating depression that would take many years to overcome. Above all, Lauren was trapped in the bind of trying not only to project a perfect image, but to actually live up the hype.
While these challenges were unfolding, Lauren’s success in the ultra-competitive world of Hollywood and daytime television is a testament to her grit, and talent, and determination.
In the healing she has received by faith she turns those same formidable gifts to speaking and singing to those who still suffer after abortion.
From Lauren’s bio:
Lauren Roman’s passion for pro-life ministry is rooted in a powerful personal testimony. Although a successful actress at just 19 with a major role on the ABC daytime drama “All My Children,” behind the scenes, Lauren was suffering in silence after an abortion at age 18. After struggling for many years with guilt, depression and an eating disorder, she finally found forgiveness and freedom through a post-abortion Bible study at a Pregnancy Resource Center in Los Angeles. Lauren became a fervent advocate for PRC ministries. As an actress now based in Nashville TN, she was recently seen in the ABC prime time drama “Nashville” and the Christian film “Grace Unplugged.” But Lauren’s greatest joy is found working with Pregnancy Resource Centers, testifying to the life-saving impact of their ministry.
