CARMEN PATE is Board Secretary of 40 Days for Life, a focused pro-life campaign with a vision to access God’s power through prayer, fasting, and peaceful vigil to end abortion. The mission of the campaign is to bring together the body of Christ in a spirit of unity during a focused 40 day campaign of prayer, fasting, and peaceful activism, with the purpose of repentance, to seek God’s favor to turn hearts and minds from a culture of death to a culture of life, thus bringing an end to abortion.
Carmen served co-host for the nationally-syndicated Point of View radio program and as president of Concerned Women for America where she appeared as a regular spokesperson for life and family issues on television, radio, and in print publications. Her work has included directing a pregnancy assistance center, and assisting a coalition of pregnancy centers in board development and strategic planning.
Even though 40 Days for Life has had an enormous impact in the last few years, many people are still not aware of this outreach. If you have been involved, your voice is needed and I hope you’ll join us Sunday to share some of your experiences. I wrote about my time of prayer outside Feminist Women’s Health in Atlanta last year archived here and here. I also returned to pray once more on abortion day–a difficult, rewarding and draining experience just like any other rescue operation where lives are on the line.
If you’re suffering after abortion, I hope you will be encouraged that there are those who care enough to try to prevent women from making our same mistake–offering real and tangible help no matter who and no matter how. Please join us this Sunday. It’s never too late for God’s love to change your heart after abortion. He is here to rescue us, even from ourselves.
