Cradle My Heart Today | Julia’s story 9-8-17
Julia Holcomb is a survivor. Listen now:
When she was sixteen she became the legal ward of Steven Tyler, of Aerosmith and American Idol fame.
He wrote in his autobiography of an abortion experience, and how his life then spiraled out of control.
And although he didn’t mention her by name, Julia came forward to set the record straight.
She was seventeen and five months pregnant with his first child, when she barely survived a fire that burned their apartment.
And while still in the hospital recovering, she was coerced into a horrific saline abortion.
She says, “I pray that all those who have participated in any way in an abortion may find in my story, not judgment or condemnation, but a renewed hope in God’s steadfast love, forgiveness and peace.”
Today she’s happily married to her husband of thirty years and together they have seven children.
The message of mercy after abortion is such welcome relief to those who felt abandoned to it by the men they loved.
It’s also good news to women who chose it with incomplete knowledge or when blinded by the shock and fear of the unknowns of unplanned pregnancy.
This good news–the gospel–is for everyone impacted by abortion too.
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:16-18
