The love of a birthmother takes abortion off the table

Cradle My Heart Today | Crystal Rae’s story 9-7-17

Open adoption seemed the best choice for Crystal Rae, right from the start. Listen now:

And she credits the powerful influence of prayer throughout the decision and placement process.

She wanted a stable Christian home, with a stay-at-home parent, on a farm in the Midwest–the kind of life she’d have given her daughter if she had been able to.

Crystal told americaadopts.com, “Adoption’s the most beautiful pain you could ever choose.”

And she says, “Choosing life for my daughter, and giving her the family she has, is the single thing in my life that I am most proud of.”

Twelve years on, the communication is strong.

And she likens the family circle to an extended family.

She’s become a strong advocate, too, sharing her story openly and without hesitation to save the lives of the children and the hearts of birthmothers as well.

Although she is open about the emotional cost of placing her daughter for adoption, Crystal’s choice reflects an unselfish desire for her child to experience a home with parents who could provide all that she could not.

The love of a birthmother is love in action.

Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. 1 John 3:18
