How to be wise about abortion

Cradle My Heart Today | Madelaine’s story 7-31-17

Just Follow Your Heart was Madelaine’s motto. Listen now:

She believed her heart was naturally full of goodness and wisdom.

But she’s learned that following your heart without first yielding to God’s wisdom, places us in spiritual and emotional peril.

Abortion was one deadly result for Madelaine and so many others who found out too late that apart from God our hearts can be very unreliable moral guides.

When we chose abortion, we may have thought it was the best we could do, or we may have seen nothing wrong with it.

If abortion has impaired your ability to trust your decision-making, begin listening to God’s voice. And as his wisdom grows within you, take the time to get to know him by heart.

The world’s wisdom says children are a “choice” to be accepted or rejected, dictated by our will and circumstances. God says they are a blessing, a gift, a reward (Psalm 127:3), and a picture of the hearts of those in heaven (Matthew 18: 1-6). The world’s wisdom says it’s best to protect your future, your finances, your goals. God says, “Trust me.” (see John 11:25)

Get wisdom! Get understanding!
Do not forget, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you;
Love her, and she will keep you.
Wisdom is the principal thing;
Therefore get wisdom.
And in all your getting, get understanding.
Exalt her, and she will promote you;
She will bring you honor, when you embrace her.
She will place on your head an ornament of grace;
A crown of glory she will deliver to you. Proverbs 4: 5-9 NKJV
