Cradle My Heart Today | Callie’s story 7-17-17
At 16, Callie was pregnant and prepped for an abortion.
But her heart wouldn’t allow her to go through with it.
As she stepped outside she was approached by someone who asked if she had considered open adoption.
Callie was intrigued to realize she could give birth to her child and find a family that would allow her to remain connected throughout her child’s life and development.
Now fourteen years later she is close to her son and his adoptive parents, and she spends time counseling other pregnant girls and women about the birthmom journey.
She says when it’s not possible to parent adoption is the option we ought to be talking about.
The gift of new life blesses both families when open adoption is the option, providing hope.
Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. James 1:17
