Cradle My Heart Today | Sarah Mae’s story 6-27-17
Sarah Mae had trouble trusting women. Listen now:
Her trust had been broken along with her home when her parents divorced.
Sarah’s mother’s issues left her detached and unsupportive when Sarah got pregnant at 16.
Sarah wanted to give birth, but both grandmothers pressured her to abort.
Years later Sarah happened to approach a pregnancy center to gain some counseling experience for her resume as a college senior. As the women there nurtured her faith with acceptance and love, Sarah’s heart softened.
She says, “I knew I was healed when I could hug those women. And today I am forgiven and free of the grief of the past.”
An unintended pregnancy often brings relationship weaknesses to the surface. This can be an opportunity for growth and drawing closer, or it can serve as a wedge, dividing and destroying trust. At the heart of every relationship is the unconditional love of God which trains our hearts to reject fear and move forward in faith.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love. 1 John 4:18
