Hope beyond hope after fatal prenatal diagnosis

Cradle My Heart Today | Nancy’s story 6-23-17

Nancy was told her pregnancy was “incompatible with life.” Listen now:

Doctor after doctor suggested she terminate the pregnancy.

In her determination to choose life, Nancy began to realize the phrase “Incompatible with Life” is a judgment, not a diagnosis.

Nancy says, “To be honest, there is nothing good about the death of a child. It is the life you lead afterward that creates the good. God always gives us a choice. Even when we think we have no options, we do.”

Her organization Isaiah’s Promise now helps other expectant mothers trust God with the lives of their children, no matter how short or long.

In speaking with mothers who took medical advice to terminate, I’ve heard so many say they wish they had given their child a chance at life. Research bears out the reality that those who carry to term have fewer emotional problems after the death of a newborn.

But there is hope and help for every heart broken by the death of a precious little one we’ve just met. Jesus said:

“Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:1-3
