Setting faith in motion after abortion

Cradle My Heart Today | Jessica’s story 6-22-17

Change is hard without external help! Listen now:

Jessica is a professional counselor who helps women impacted by abortion. She sees firsthand how Jesus sets faith in motion after sin leaves us weak and feeling stuck.

We may be just like the lame man in John’s gospel, focused on what we can’t control—other people, our dependency, the past.

Jessica, like Jesus, helps women see there’s much that we can control, even after abortion.

We can choose:

  • our attitude
  • our faith
  • our self-regard.

We can obey when Jesus says to repent the past and live.

Your faith in Jesus Christ is the external force to help you break out of your spiritual inertia which leaves you stuck after abortion. He is ready, willing, and able to help you now.

One of the keys to finding faith after abortion is to let go of the blame which cripples our emotional growth. The way we do this is by taking accountability for our part in the abortion experience and forgiving everyone else involved.

It is a challenge, but ultimately empowering, to know that we can move on if we will only follow where God’s direction leads.

When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?”

“Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.”

Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked. John 5: 6-9
