Cradle My Heart Today | Faith’s story 5-11-17
Faith Hill always knew she was adopted. Listen now:
And she credits her adoptive family with her rock-solid foundation in life.
Yet she yearned to know about her roots.
Faith told Good Housekeeping that at the same time she went to Nashville to pursue her dreams, she began to search for her birth mother. Meeting her created in Faith the peace that knowing the truth often brings.
She says, “I’d never seen anyone that looked anything like me–the awe of seeing someone you came from. It fills something.”
And she insists she isn’t bitter about being placed for adoption. “I know she must have had a lot of love for me to want to give me a better chance.”
The adopted child’s yearning to find his or her true identity often mirrors the spiritual struggle we all must face: wondering about our spiritual identity and our heavenly father. The only lasting peace we find is knowing the great value God has placed on us as we live our lives as His adopted children through faith in Jesus Christ.
For we are God’s masterpiece, created to do good works which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
