Cradle My Heart Today | Gwen’s story 4-21-17
The All-American girl is not supposed to get pregnant in college. Listen now:
Gwen Smith was not only frightened of losing her athletic scholarship in volleyball, but her reputation as a good Christian girl seemed to be on the line as well.
So “Gwen” didn’t show up for that abortion. She used an alias.
And she walked away determined to bury that mistake along with her unborn child.
Like so many others, Gwen learned that we may choose abortion but we cannot choose our consequences.
Her guilt and grief persisted until Gwen sought help through an abortion recovery Bible study offered by a pregnancy help center. Today she helps women see how God can turn us from broken into beautiful, bringing good out of our worst mistakes and sin.
How can God possibly bring beauty from the wreck and ruin which always follows in abortion’s wake? Even if our lives go on just as they did before, our hearts are forever diminished. But as you persist in prayer, you will see that God specializes in restoring what was broken to more than before, making all things new.
For Gwen, the restoration has taken shape through a platform for writing and singing God’s love.
He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end. Ecclesiastes 3:11
