Her miscarriage exposed abortion truth

Cradle My Heart Today |  Carla’s story 4-12-17

Carla Stream grew up unloved and abused. Listen now:

Pregnant at 24, those around her said abortion was no big deal.

And even though she wanted help and support, abortion promised something.

Of that horrible experience, Carla says, “The lies included that at ten weeks it was ‘just cells.’ And, ‘You can just get on with your life.’”

But afterwards she slipped into drunken partying, and low self-esteem, and deep depression.

A few years later she married and they got pregnant right away. But when she miscarried at ten weeks, Carla delivered a baby into her hand. She suddenly knew abortion was wrong. But how to reconcile it, how could God forgive?

After meeting with her Pastor and through counseling and prayer she began to believe she could be healed and forgiven.

You too can find help for the pain abortion brings.

These Scriptures were especially helpful for Carla to grasp God’s gracious rescue from the guilt after abortion:

He sent from on high, he took me;
he drew me out of many waters.
He rescued me from my strong enemy
and from those who hated me,
for they were too mighty for me.
They confronted me in the day of my calamity,
but the Lord was my support.
He brought me out into a broad place;
he rescued me, because he delighted in me.Psalm 18: 16-19

And these verses helped Carla regain her joy as she grieves her children in heaven with hope:

You have turned for me my mourning into dancing;
you have loosed my sackcloth
and clothed me with gladness,
that my glory may sing your praise and not be silent.
O Lord my God, I will give thanks to you forever! Psalm 30:11-12

Every pregnancy loss is a real loss. A family member is gone. These young ones teach us so much! Let’s listen to the lesson of their short lives.
