Cradle My Heart Today |  Pamela’s story 4-11-17

Since the Bible doesn’t mention the word ‘abortion’ some say it’s just a matter of individual choice. Listen now:

Christian apologist Pamela Christian says, “Abortion is the same thing as any other sin. We are deceived. We don’t have the whole truth. We’re operating on what we know. Unless we understand what we believe and why we believe it what we know we can easily be deceived, as all sin is.”

Pamela points to Jeremiah 1:4-5 which affirms that the Lord knows us before the foundation of the world.

Now the word of the Lord came to me, saying,

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
and before you were born I consecrated you;
I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”

Psalm 139:13-17 says God treasures us before we’re conceived.

For you formed my inward parts;
you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.
I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.[a]
Wonderful are your works;
my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from you,
when I was being made in secret,
intricately woven in the depths of the earth.
Your eyes saw my unformed substance;
in your book were written, every one of them,
the days that were formed for me,
when as yet there was none of them.
How precious to me are your thoughts, O God!
How vast is the sum of them!

In addition to this poetic imagery, the Bible affirms that we are made in God’s image. That’s why He prohibits shedding innocent blood.

Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14

Children are precious to God. The Bible tells us so.
