Cradle My Heart Today | Stacey’s story 4-6-17
Actress and conservative commentator Stacey Dash almost aborted her son. Listen now:
Stacey told People magazine she survived childhood abuse but still suffered emotionally as an adult.
She was using drugs when she became pregnant and decided to have an abortion.
Stacey said, “I didn’t want to live. I wanted to die. While prepping for the abortion, I was crying and I said to God, ‘Please tell me what to do.’ And God told me, ‘Keep your son.’ I ripped the IV out of my arm and I said, ‘I’m keeping my son.’”
Dash said she is open with her son Austin, and her daughter Lola about her past.
And today her Christian faith informs her character as much as has overcoming and surviving the chaos of her past.
Stacy’s simple prayer began to build faith that her life could be very different from the painful difficulties she faced.
Scriptures say all who seek him with a sincere heart can be assured that the Lord will hear. He will answer. He will care. These verses from James and Jeremiah show God’s character toward those who are searching for help when feeling overwhelmed.
Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. James 4:8
Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. And you will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart. I will be found by you, says the Lord, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says the Lord, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive. Jeremiah 29:12-14
