Heather weighed all of her options as a teen in an unplanned pregnancy.
She told verily.com she and her boyfriend ultimately decided to grow up.
“I left college and got married and started being an adult instead of masquerading as one.”
Her family didn’t banish her, as she feared.
Now, fifteen years later she and her husband have three more children.
She returned to school while raising the kids and by 31 Heather had her degree and entered the job market. How did she get through it?
Heather says, “I had my husband’s support (which countless teen moms can’t take for granted), my family’s support in the end, and my in-laws’ support. Eventually I also found a wonderful group of friends.
“But at the end of the day, I’d be lying if I didn’t say I think God gave me the strength to get through it.”
While the world says abortion empowers women, Proverbs 31:25, 28 pictures God giving women both strength and worth, and rewarding motherhood with blessings and praise from the family He has given her.
“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. . . Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her”
