Preventing abortion at the precise point of need

Cradle My Heart Radio features Save the Storks’ unique life-saving intervention the week of April 24

The great irony at the heart of the abortion conversation is the matter of choice. The Supreme Court of the United States grants women the right to choose to abort a pregnancy, yet the vast majority of women who abort say they felt they had no other choice. When that happens the tragedy of the loss of life is compounded by a resulting spiritual and emotional crisis for the woman who aborts. This was true for me when I chose to abort in order to protect my budding career at age twenty-three. I was typical; research says as many as 84% of women who aren’t reached with a message of hope and a true alternative will “choose” abortion, and will suffer for that choice. According to researcher David Reardon at abortionfacts.com:

A study of 252 aborted women who suffered psychological sequelae reported that 53% felt “forced” into the abortion by others, and 65 percent felt “forced” by their circumstances. Only 33 percent felt “free” to make their own decisions. Conversely, 83 percent stated they would have kept the pregnancy if they had been encouraged to do so by one or more other persons, and 84 percent would have kept the pregnancy under “better circumstances.”

The pregnancy help movement is there to offer a better choice. Each of us concerned with saving preborn children should know the Option Line number: 1-800-712-HELP or text HELPLINE to 313131. Lives are being saved–the only flaw with this system is that women must know such help exists, and many still don’t.

But what if those in need could be reached where they are when they need the help the most–while they are on their way to the abortion appointment?

That’s the vision of Save the Storks.

Save the Storks represents a new strategy for reaching women who choose abortion because they feel they have no other choice.
